WEEKLY UPDATE  9-20-09
Dear Families,
We had a lovely time with those of you who joined us for our Equinox party. What a simple way for us to get to know one another and connect with old friends.
Your child and teachers will appreciate a nice pair of rubber boots in order that children may enjoy the unusual puddles on the playground. Barring boots, be sure your child has extra shoes (and clothes) on hand.
Thanks for going through your closets in order to contribute to our annual Rummage Sale. We also need and will be grateful for baked goods, tarps to cover tables, bags and hangers. Fliers are available in each classroom to post if you know of a place to do so. Volunteers for sorting and/or help on the day of the event are most welcome. Please sign up in your classroom so that we know who to expect. Thank you!
DATES TO LOOK OUT FOR:
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 9:30-1:00-ALL-SCHOOL FIELD TRIP to the COMMUNITY FARM where we will pick apples and pears. We will keep some for cooking and the Saplings class will deliver the rest to the Food Depot. We will need a few (dry) empty boxes to fill with fruit and DRIVERS to help us get there. Sign up with your teacher. Thank you!
THURSDAY & FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 & 25-RUMMAGE SALE SORT DAYS- Come in to help us sort, price and make signs for our annual fundraising Rummage Sale. Your donations of usable items are also greatly appreciated starting on Monday, September 21 in the West classroom (currently our aftercare and movement room, to the West of the Seeds classroom).

Weekly Update Sept. 14-18

We were happy to see so many parents in attendance on Back-to-School Nights. Please catch up with your teacher if you missed this.

We had great fun at the Pet Parade on Saturday. Thanks to all of you who got up and out early to march with us and to those cheering us on from the sidelines!
DATES TO LOOK OUT FOR:
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 6-8PM- BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING. All are welcome. Childcare available with RSVP.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 6-8 PM- EQUINOX POTLUCK & PARTY- Bring a dish and your company to a school-wide community event. Get to know fellow Dragonfly families. Our gratitude to parents who have offered to set up and break down this event. We couldn’t do it without you!

Rummage Sale Donations Needed for September 26th

OUR  ANNUAL FUNDRAISING RUMMAGE SALE WILL BE HELD FROM 8:30-2:30 ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26. Clean, usable donations accepted at the school starting September 20th. Please contact stephanie@dragonflyschool.com if you would like to drop off a donation. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you!

Pet Parade

We will be participating in the Desfile de los Ninos, the Santa fe Pet Parade this year. Families are welcome to join us with their pets (or just children) in tow. We will meet by 8:30 in the old La Residencia parking lot on Saturday, September 12th. Come along for some good fun!
