Weekly Update 2-28-10

Dear Families,

We enjoyed seeing some of you at Saturday’s Open House. Thanks for your support; we hope you enjoyed your time there meeting some potential new members of our Dragonfly community.

We are currently enrolling for our preschool summer sessions. (Tuition contract is attached for reference.) Children aged four and under at the start of summer are eligible to enroll. For students five and older, we highly recommend Children’s Adventure Company, which shares our facility.

Due to low enrollment in our aftercare services and the difficulty of staffing for the long day, we are limiting our summer camp hours to 8:30-3:30 daily. We are open to reconsideration of  extra hours if there is enough interest by  families in contracting for them. Enrollment will be limited to 16 children, so early registration is encouraged. Please contact Stephanie (can reply to this email) with any questions.

Weekly Update 2-21-10

Dear Families,

Thanks to those of you who have already returned your re-enrollment packets. We appreciate your help in getting us started in planning our coming year.

We have been watching the traffic flow in our neighborhood. Please remember the agreements you made concerning pick-up and drop-off. Some key points–the speed limit on Alto St. is 25 mph: we have many elderly neighbors, young kids and animals in the vicinity. Please adhere to the speed limit, turn right only when exiting our parking lot onto Alto St.,  turn off your cell phone and always hold your child’s hand in the parking lot. Remember these rules are for the benefit of our entire community, not least your own children. Thank you for taking responsibility for safety.

DATES TO LOOK OUT FOR:

Enjoy activities with your kids and see what our other classrooms look like while getting some one-on-one time with other families, staff and board members. Weekly Update 2-14-10

Dear Families,

What a loving week it was at Dragonfly!  Our students spent time sharing notes with their pen pals and making valentines for each other and their families. In addition, our Saplings class made cards for and recited poetry with the residents of Sierra Vista Senior Center as part of the Alzheimers Poetry project and the Seeds class visited several neighborhood shut-ins with cookies they had baked and offered up some songs, as well. We all enjoyed the all-school pizza party on Friday and were thrilled by all the interesting mail in our mailboxes.

Re-Enrollment packets are attached to this email for your consideration. A hard copy will be in your classroom on Tuesday. We understand this is an important decision for families and have extended the re-enrollment date to Tuesday, March 16 to give you more time to decide. Please note that there have been some notable changes this year including a tuition increase (2010-2011 tuition amounts are posted on the website) and the addition of a sibling discount for families with more than one child attending Dragonfly. Nancy and Stephanie are available for questions or comments on how these changes will affect your family or decisions concerning a continuing education for your child at Dragonfly. Please feel free to contact us with your input.

Weekly Update 2-7-10

Dear Families,

Thank you for taking time out from school to meet with us about your child’s progress. We value this time to communicate without interruption. We hope you found it helpful, as well.

As SFPS is not in session tomorrow, please keep your eye on our website, dragonflyschool.com, or call 995-9869 for snow delay information. Regardless of the weather, please be aware when using our parking lot that the city is continuing construction there. Use discretion when entering, parking and exiting. The parking is more limited now, so managing pick-up in an efficient way will help everyone using our parking lot. The top gate will be unlocked if the driveway is at all icy or snow-packed. Please use it only when necessary.

Many of you have recently requested our employer identification number for tax purposes. For your records: 14-1984-036
