Weekly Update 3-20-11

Dear Families,
Spring has sprung!

Thanks to the families of Gavan, Sequoia, Lily, Kadin, Fiona, Zander, Casey, Olivia, Luisa, Molly, Henry Land, Megan and Robin, Greely, Orion, Angelina, Liliana and all our staff who showed up to work around the outsides of our school on Saturday. We got so many things done, the outdoors is so much more beautiful and we shared warm fellowship and a delicious lunch. Projects included pruning, debris removal, mulching, compost-building, pigeon nest eradication and lots of fun!

If you would like to add Maximilian Sunflowers to your garden, please take a few clumps from the large green wagon parked near the top of the walkway. They will grow to 3 feet tall, are attractive to butterflies with their clusters of yellow flowers, and will spread freely and bloom prolifically with a little bit of water.
The Seeds class will visit the Santa Fe Animal Shelter on Friday and would love to bring along your donations of old towels or blankets, also non-plush (easy to sanitize)dog toys, cat toys or leashes. Please bring donations to the Seeds class. The Seeds will be cooking cat and dog treats to deliver, as well.
We have decided to lengthen the day available at our preschool summer camp for three and four-year-olds. We will revert to our school-year schedule of 8-3, with additional aftercare until 5:15. Sorry if the change in the shorter day has inconvenienced anyone; we hope the addition of aftercare makes up for it.
Please note that we will raise the price of our drop-in 5-punch card to $85 and that you could save $5 (nearly 1/3) per day by contracting for four or five days a week of aftercare. We will also be asking parents to hold onto their own punchcards to be presented at the start or end of an aftercare day for redemption. New tutition contracts attached or available in the Seeds room. Reserve your space now, as we will begin to enroll the general public starting next week.  Thank you!!
